"So," she taps the cigarette on the ash tray, watching ash fall like snow. "What's got the great Gojo Satoru in my 'lair' in the middle of the night, when I'm fairly certain he was meant to be visiting Okkotsu Yuuta overseas?"
For a moment, there's no sound but the hiss of flame devouring the rolling paper.
But whatever it is lashes across his memory. Satoru reels, as if physically struck by hot and scorching lightning. Then sighs, running a hand through already wild white hair.
Shoko hums, a careless noise. She gives him a long moment to put his words together, and after that long moment, he finally speaks. Voice raspy from the toxin. "I kissed him."
A beat passes, Satoru clarifies.
"I kissed Megumi."
Shoko inhales sharply.
There's twenty cigarettes in a carton of SevenStars, there's eighteen left between the two of them. By the end of the night, Shoko suspects there will be none left at all.
